Plans & Projects

Nothing ever built arose to touch the skies unless some man dreamed that it should, some
man believed that it could, and some man willed that it must.

  - Charles F. Kettering
Any self respecting organization can never really claim to be the best unless it keeps acquiring better technology, better people and better know-how to improve its services.

After the expansion of Radiotherapy services last year, the Vision for 2006 is to consolidate the services of the Departments of Surgical Oncology and Diagnostics, by construction of an ultramodern Surgical Wing with planned pre- & post operative wards, state of the art OTs and another ITU, in close proximity to the updated and expanded Diagnostic wing, to save time, and manpower.

There is also a drive to integrate the Information Systems of the Hospital in 2006 on a common platform with a common server base for ease of information entry, storage & retrieval. For this, a comprehensive project has been drawn up for implementation of Hospital Management Information Systems, as per standard norms, inclusive of all patient service areas. This is expected to yield massive savings in terms of manpower and costs.

Facing an ever-increasing demand for Radiotherapy using the latest generation Linear Accelerator, it is also now imperative to upgrade all existing Radiotherapy equipment and provide advanced modes of backup in case of machine downtime. Hence, in 2006, the Institute plans to purchase a second Linear Accelerator of 6 MV capacity along with a Multi Leaf Collimator (MLC) to fine-tune treatment delivery.

The Costs for the above projects have been calculated, and are as follows:

Expansion of Surgical wing with addition of Wards, OTs, ITU - $338,519 (0.3 million U.S. Dollar)
( 1.5 Crores Rupees )
Introduction of common HMIS for comprehensive computerization - $112,840  (0.1 million U.S. Dollar)
( 0.5 Crore Rupees )

Therefore, total costs of expansion & service improvement in 2007 - 2008 is pegged at
$ 1,692,595  (1.7 million US Dollar) (7.5 Crore Rupees)

We know that a lot of this can be contributed by our patrons and well wishers who share our goal of bringing the best of medical facilities to the poorest sections of society.

Just as Rome was not built in a day, our Vision may not be fulfilled soon, but if we join our hands together in carrying on the crusade against Cancer, WE SHALL OVERCOME SOMEDAY
